DAY 1. MEDAN AIRPORT
Arrive in Medan, we will pick up you from the airport
and transfer to Hotel located in the centre of Medan for overnight
stay. Here you can rest after long journey, swim or walk in the nearby area.
DAY 2. MEDAN – BUKITLAWANG (B)
In the morning you can do city tour in Medan. You can visit the beautiful mix architectures of Maimoon palace built in 1888 by the
Sultan of Deli (former name of Medan) Sultan Mahmood Al Rashid.
Then a visit to Grand Mosque "Mesjid Raya" built in 1906 where you can see its interesting ornaments, to Chinese and Hindu
temples. As one of the most important cities during Dutch colonial time, you can see also colonial architectural touch in
building likes: the Post office, the old City Hall, Central bank, etc. Before we depart to Bohorok we will make a short visit
to Asam Kumbang crocodile farm. Here you can see crocodiles from different sizes and ages. In the afternoon we proceed to
Bohorok/Bukit Lawang, the orangutans’ rehabilitation centre. The journey leads you past the scenic rubber and palm
oil plantations.
DAY 3. BUKITLAWANG
(B)
Walk for around 45 minutes at the side of Bohorok River to the orangutans feeding area. Prior to arrival
at rehabilitation centre you have to cross the river by small wooden canoe. Then do a short climbing through the tropical
rainforest at the slope of Mt. Leuser. Watching the official ranger feeds the orangutans. It is suggested to have comfortable
sportive shoes.
DAY 4. BUKITLAWANG
– BRASTAGI (B)
After breakfast we depart to Brastagi via Medan. Brastagi is a mountain resort in the Karo Highland
that surroundings with 2 active volcanoes, Sibayak and Sinabung. Before we arrive in hotel, you can also make a stop at fruits
market.
DAY 5. BRASTAGI
– SAMOSIR ISLAND (B)
When drive to Samosir Island you will visit Dokan, a traditional Batak Karonese village. Here
you can observe traditional houses of the tribe and the daily activities of the villagers. After that depart to Lake Toba.
Enroute we can stops at the Sipiso piso waterfall with its splendid view over the lake Toba and restored of King Simalungun
Palace at Pematang Purba. You can also make couple stops at pineapple, ginger and coffee plantations that belong to the local
farmers. In the afternoon you will arrive in Parapat at the lake Toba, from where you embark the ferry to cross the lake to
Samosir Island.
DAY 6. TOBA
TOUR (B)
On this Island we will make excursion to several Batak Toba villages, First we visit Simanindo village where you
can see a performance of traditional Batak Toba dances, then to Ambarita village where you can hear the interesting legend
of it's megalithic cultural objects and finally to the noble cemetery of King Sidabutar in Tomok. During the excursion you
will have a chance to walk and see the way of life of the local Batak Toba tribe.
DAY 7. SAMOSIR
– SIPIROK (B)
Early morning we cross back the lake for Parapat. Then drive along the southern shores of Lake Toba
with its lovely ricefields and huge Batak's graves. On the way you can make a stop at the traditional hand weaving village
of Jangga Toru. Here local women make Ulos cloth still in traditional way. At noon we will arrive in Tarutung, centre of the
Protestant Batak church. Thereafter we continue driving through the Bukit Barisan mountanical ridge until Sipirok.
DAY 8. SIPIROK
– BUKITTINGGI (B)
The journey today is rather long but worthwhile. It exhibits the inner part of Sumatra. The scenery
of mountains, river valleys and traditional village will relive you from your weariness. Stop at Aek Sijornih to see waterfall
drops among thousand coconut palm trees. Next, stop at botanical garden to see pepper, cinnamon, etc. Proceed to Panti nature
reserve and the equator monument. Continue journey to the most charming town, the heart of Minangkabau Highland and the center
of matrilineal society of west Sumatra.
DAY 9. MINANGKABAU
TOUR (B)
Today we will make a sight seeing in Bukittinggi. Starting with Forth de Cock, situated on a strategic
point of Bukittinggi. Then to the famous Sianok Valley "Ngarai Sianok", Japanese tunnel, museum, the colorful market and the
traditional weaving village at Pandai Sikat. Afternoon free at your own program to scroll this pleasant and cool city of Bukittinggi.
DAY 10. MINANGKABAU TOUR
(B)
After breakfast, we drive to Batu Sangkar via Tabek Patah, here you will enjoy the beautiful scenery
of field rece and some of Minangkabau traditional village and next stop is Sungai
Tarab to see traditional coffee mills still driven by water whells, arrival at Batusangkar
is considered the centre of Minangkabau culture that has some historical remains of stone tablets with ancient Hindu script
drive to Pagaruyung to visit the duplicate Palace of Minangkabau Kingdom, afternoon return to Bukittinggi via Padang Panjang
and visit The Minangkabau cultural centre museum next stop is Pandai Sikat village to see Minangkabau traditional hand weaving
and wood carving.
DAY 11. BUKITTINGGI –
LAKE MANINJAU (B)
Leave Bukittinggi to Koto Gadang the silver village of West Sumatra province. From Koto Gadang, we continue
the tour to Embun pagi, a place to enjoy the fresh air mist and beautiful view over Lake Maninjau surrounded by green hills.
You can also make a stop at Lawang village famous for its sugar cane products. The processing of sugar cane is still in traditional
way. After that we descend to the lake Maninjau passing its 44 curves. Lake Maninjau is one of the most treasured and worth
while place to visit in West Sumatra. The rest of the day free at your own leisure. You can walk to the surrounding areas,
rest or swim in this beautiful calm and clean lake.
DAY 12. MANINJAU –
PADANG – BUNGUS BEACH (B)
Today you go to Padang via the beautiful Anai valley with the Anai waterfall. The harbor city of Padang on the Indian Ocean is the economic centre of West Sumatra. On arrival there is a city tour and then
leave for Bungus
Beach for overnight.
DAY 13. BUNGUS BEACH –
PAGANG ISLAND. (B.L.D)
In the morning you will cross the sea by boat charter for 1 hour to Pagang Island, Here You can enjoy the heavenly surroundings on this Robinson Crusoe Island. You can snorkel over beautiful
coral gardens. Snorkeling equipment and simple lunch will be provided by our guide in Pagang Island.
DAY 14. PAGANG ISLAND
– PADANG (B.L)
In the afternoon you will crossing back the sea for Bungus Beach then continue drive to Padang for
an overnight.
DAY 15. PADANG.
Transfer to Airport for your next destination.
